Samoa has excellent fishing potential for both inshore reef fishing and off-shore big game fishing. Based on the availability of the three Salani skiffs used for surf transfers guest do have the opportunity to try their luck along the reefs off-shore Salani. The first priority of the Salani skiffs is surfing.
For the more avid fishing enthusiasts Salani is now able to offer big game fishing aboard the Black Pearl directly from Salani Resort. You may want to pre-book a couple days with your surf package to assure availability
Sport fishing is relatively new to Samoa which has some of the most productive commercial tuna fishing waters in the world. Now with the arrival of the Black Pearl we are discovering just how productive these waters are. The most common varieties of fish include Yellow fin tuna, Wahoo, Dorado (dolphin fish), Blue Marlin and Black Marlin. We have caught other varieties of tuna, some large Trevally and experienced excellent bottom fishing for snapper. For those looking for something really different night fishing can be arranged for swordfish.
